In the Spring of 2022, I spent a week in Paris for a workshop with the great Richard Kalvar of Magnum Photos. You can read more about my experience there in my newsletter on the subject here: https://mackiec.substack.com/p/alight-001-magnumphotos-paris
For several days, I walked around Paris trying to produce a lot of work, and test myself to be closer, more deliberate, and to tell better stories. I felt so lucky to have the space to spend a week solely focused on photography, and boy did I walk a lot. I thought I knew Paris well before, but I literally did several laps all around the inner arrondissements for a few days - from Père Lachaise to Jardin des Plantes, then onto the Eiffel, up to the Arc de Triomphe, and then back through the Louvre. If I had a step counter on, I think it would have caught on fire.
