The prospect of being a 'local' holds a particular mystique in every culture. To be so comfortably familiar with your place in the world that you practically melt into your surroundings. When traveling, we pretend to do 'local' things to capture that known unknown of a place. We tell ourselves we are eating local food, seeing local sights, buying local items - all vain attempts to be accepted by the culture we are trespassing.
"LOCAL" is an ongoing project that documents the grace of locals as they blend perfectly into their environments, in a way the viewer will never be able to.
