A 60-year-old TLR camera is probably not the ideal traveller's camera, but I gave it a go anyway with a Christmas trip to Mexico in the winter of 2017. With limited frames from just a few rolls of film I had with me, I found a bright and quiet slice of normal life in what's outwardly a tourist-focused town. It's amazing to me how clear some of the memory of the larger days surrounding these images remain despite the years rolling on, and I can only chalk it up to the patience and presence it takes to open the viewfinder on a TLR, look down, consider and think about the scene, and the bravery it takes to fire the shutter when you know it brings you one step closer to the finality of the short roll.
